My Cities, Your Identities explores the parallel relationship between cities’ transformations and identities’ evolution: modern metropolis are often the result of the compound of different cities and cultures, as it is for contemporary identities. During this borderless time we have the possibility to live and experience a constant hybridization among cities, bodies, societies, cultures and new technologies, which shapes and regenerates our individualities. Our whole being evolves as well as contemporary cultures and modern cities do.
The exhibition is curated by Arch. Luca Curci (Founder of LUCA CURCI ARCHITECTS and It’s LIQUID Group).
BigCi (www.bigci.org) is an independent, artist run, not for profit micro artist residency program with a focus on supporting serious artists by facilitating their projects. Article “Pathology of the Image”
Pathology of the Image
Article by Fred L’Epee
Image.
Concept.
Psychology.
The image is a process that will never stop. We belong to her as she belongs to us. We film it. We look at it. It forms the expansion of us even. Our private impairment. The image is a psychological movement of gesture, act and its temporality. But the image also creates a pathology which influences psychologically our daily forms and our functional modes. Reversible as the symbolism of a mirror and dominated by the fascination of beauty and its opposite; the endless Aidos. Refusal and virtuousness of the body. It persecutes our existential and metaphysical pulpit to corrupt definitely the material which is our body. Definitely. The image and its movement. Picture is its expansion. A charming game became established there.

International Video Art Exhibition (Wrocław, Poland)
“The Testament” (2013)
BorderBody – International Art Festival
From 10th to 30th of November 2013
Gallery MD_S (Galeria sztuki Współczesnej MD_S)
Wrocław (Poland)
“BorderBody” is conceived as a diffused and nomadic exhibition in different places of the world. The festival is composed by two sections: “Mixing Cities”, which deals with modern urban changes and their influence on citizens, and “Mixing Identities” focused on the hybridization of social identities in contemporary time. Artworks’ selection is based on the main concept of fluidity, motion, changing networks and cities transformations. In contemporary society boundaries are getting more and more fleeting, and also the identity; what makes every person or place a recognizable entity, turns out fluid, multiple, making the cultural, religious, ethnic borders changeable too. This change, this mutation has allowed to cross the inside of the identities creating new possible crossings, new blends. There is no more limit between an identity and the other one but it is possible to walk, to cross a passage and to find oneself halfway through it, in a non-place, in a non-identity. People, backgrounds, societies, progress and all their inputs creates hybrid identities, modifying each other and being mixed in prospect to shape a better world.
Opening:
November 10th, 2013 at MD_S (Galeria sztuki Współczesnej MD_S)
From 7.00 PM, Bolesława Chobrego 24, Wrocław Nadodrze, Poland

The selection was based on the main concept of fluidity, motion, changing networks and cities transformations. This change, this mutation has allowed to cross the inside of the identities creating new possible crossings, new blends. And it’s just this “contemporaneity” that makes our civilization conceived as subjected to a process of continuous evolution and cultural hybridization. Mixing sustainable transport; modern (ICT) communication infrastructure; sustainable economic development; and wise management of natural resources, human, intellectual and social capital, is the key to reach a future better life quality. Festival International Cinema Libre
From 30th August to 1rst September 2013
Hamburg (Germany)
Cinema Libre is produced by people who have to say something. Cinema libre is placing poetry before technique/technology, life before show, and facts before effects. It is the antidote to dominant and standardized pictures, which are shaping us. It differs from the cinema made by industry, television, business, entertainment, motion picture technology and money. Cinema Libre does not pay attention to public expectations. It is neither a job, nor a business. It does not look for a return on investment. It ignores codes, formats and fashions. It is a cinema of experiments and many times it is based on DIY, sharing, lightness and freshness.
To be independent from the film industry, movies can be self-produced, crowd funded and/or be produced with no money at all. These movies are sometimes labelled as “amateur movies”. Furthermore there are movies, which are under copyleft licences or under Creative Commons licences and can be shared and modified freely. Even some movies produced in the traditional way divert themselves from the conformism that is involved in/ belongs to the hegemonic system.
In the last decade, digital technologies extend the space of cinema libre.
This is a chance to promote the cinema libre, since the access from creation to diffusion is now available for many people.
By definition, cinema libre has no definition. That’s why this festival wants to be an occasion to develop this idea of cinema. By watching movies – your movies – and by giving space and time for discussions we will try to make the cinema libre defining itself.
CINEMA LIBRE is produced by people who have something to say. It is the poetry of the prior art, the life before the show and facts on the effects.CINEMA LIBRE is an antidote to dominant and standardized images that shape us daily and is different from the cinema, the wird. CINEMA made by industry, television, entertainment, special effects and money LIBRE is neither a job, nor is it a business, and it is not aimed at financial gain. It pays no attention to public expectations and ignores encodings, formats and fashion. CINEMA LIBRE is a cinema of experiments, which are often based on lightness, freshness, free content, and Do-It-Yourself.

The Center of Architecture, Urban Culture and Landscape “Uzina de Apa” is the result of a conversion of an old, abandoned Water Plant into a Cultural Center. The project results as a collaboration including municipal authorities, local community and an array of architects, engineers and students. Moreover, private contractors and companies dedicated to innovative techniques are involved to achieve an exemplary public-private partnership. Although originally conceived as a technological construction, the new “Water Plant” is now capable of hosting events ranging from conferences to concerts and exhibitions. By reclaiming its place in the city, this project attempts the true meaning of the word “sustainability” (sus = under and tenere = to hold) – to keep in existence, to maintain and prolong.

Liquid borders | Bari 2013
“La Corte – Fotografia e ricerca” cultural organization and International ArtExpo are proud to announce the opening of Liquid Borders – International art festival of photography, video art and installation, held in Bari (Italy) in the prestigious and historical locations of Castello Svevo (Swabian Castle), Santa Teresa dei Maschi and Sala Murat, from the 3rd to the 31st of July.
The press conference will be on Friday the 28th of June 2013 at 11.30 AM, in the Sala Sveva of Castello Svevo (Swabian Castle).
The openings of the event will be on Wednesday the 3rd of July 2013 at Castello Svevo (Swabian Castle), at 06.00 PM; and on Thursday the 4th of July 2013 in Santa Teresa dei Maschi at 05.00 PM, and at Sala Murat at 06.00 PM.
The event will last until July 31st 2013.
The Festival is based on the main concept of the hybridization among art, culture, physical and social identities in contemporary cities, and the mixing between people and space. Urban environments, people, rules and limits are no more distinct realities, but they constantly modify and get mixed together, generating new connections and hybrid results, with undefined ethic, social, sexual and religious borders. Forty-two artists, from all over the world, have been invited to present their artworks related to the theme, during the festival which will be hosted in the three venues of the city of Bari, until the end of July. The aim of the festival is to understand which are the borders still alive in contemporary metropolis, and which ones have become undefined and hybrid. To understand that, artists use material, pictures, sounds, videos and site-specific installations. Fausta Maria Bolettieri and Luca Curci, curators.
July 31st 2013, at the end of the Liquid Borders, there will be the selection of the winners of one International Exhibition organized by International ArtExpo and offered by It’s Liquid Group, 3 art residences at Palazzo Calò in Bari (Italy), Tenuta Pinto in Mola di Bari (Italy) and Palazzo Siena in Minervino di Lecce (Italy).
The catalogue is edited by Adda Editore.
Information regarding the venues
The Castello Svevo (Swabian Castle), symbol of the city of Bari, was built around 1132 by Norman King Roger II. The Castle is surrounded by a moat on all sides, except the northern section, which was bordering the sea and can be accessed from the bridge and the gate on the southern side. It is mainly composed of the Aragon walls and the main Swabian tower, and is currently used for exhibitions. Sala Murat is a cultural space of 400 square meters located in Piazza del Ferrarese, in the centre of Bari. It’s dedicated to art and contemporary exhibition, workshops and conferences. Inside the space it’s permanently exhibited a wall drawing by the minimalist artist Sol LeWitt. Santa Teresa dei Maschi is an ex-cloister, today seat of the Provincial Library for Culture and Arts “De Gemmis”, given in 1952 by Baron de Gennaro Gemmis.

Welcome to the Mojave Desert
“The Forgotten Film Gallery” is a web based documentary film and video art installation project which strives to showcase a collection of films dealing with interpretations of the forgotten and the indefinite time period during and after the present. The Forgotten Film Gallery will attempt to link the past, present and future using unique areas of the Mojave desert and the World Wide Web as it’s gallery installation space.
Goal
The goal for the Forgotten Film Gallery is to unite the new with the old. Link the past to the future using the remoteness of the desert as the gallery space and the world wide web as a platform to distribute a documentary freely with the public.
Impact
By utilizing the lonely desert as an audience. Contemporary artists might continue to create freely without the fear of rejection. Sharing the film on the web will also allow the general public to recognize and value the importance of our often under appreciated past and present natural environment.

The competition programme Videoholica 2012 is assorted in six video art blocks – three, so-called international video art compilations/BLOCK IN-TER 1, 2 and 3; a selection of themed video that interprets the objects water, rivers and seas /THIS TIME WATERS, RIVERS AND SEAS ONLY, WITHOUT ANY PEOPLE OF LABOUR/; a video art selection in aspect ratio of 4:3, which is being neglected lately /4:3 BLOCK/; and a selection of video art from countries that were part of the former Soviet Bloc /EKS-BLOCK/.
After a six-month international Open Call of Videoholica 2012, 192 authors applied with 279 video art works to take part in this year’s festival. Out of these, Videoholica will present 129 videos of 110 authors who will compete for the first official awards in the five-year history of Videoholica, namely GOLD, SILVER, BRONZE AND YOUNG VIDEOHOLIC. FORUM DES IMAGES (PARIS)
Who we are…
Created in 1988 to compile an audiovisual memory bank of Paris, the Forum des Images has since celebrated cinema and moving pictures of all kinds. Fiction films, documentaries, animated films, shorts and feature films, television series, computer films… at the Forum, all genres, formats and audiovisual disciplines find a unique meeting place designed for sharing ideas and emotions; a place both recognized by industry professionals and tremendously successful with audiences.
Celebrating diversity and international cinema, encouraging cultural exchanges and critical thought, rethinking our era and our world, pushing limits and creating surprise, promoting film literacy amongst the youngest audiences… And all this through the eye of the camera!
A rich and eclectic program
Thematic film series, the backbone of our programming policy, offer the opportunity to shed new and original light on major social themes by instituting a dialogue between very diverse works, from art house films to mainstream popular productions past and present. Every year, the Forum des Images organizes a dozen festivals, which are open to the general public and which emphasize contemporary productions. It also organizes events centered on animation and documentaries. Last but not least, it offers programs for young audiences, specifically designed for 18-month-old children and older.
A crossroads to meet and exchange views
The Académie is where the Forum stages debates open to all visiters. Guests include industry professionals and influential personalities from other fields who come to share their views on the silver screen: philosophers, sociologists, historians… Master classes, discussions and film courses have already brought together renowned cinema personalities: Michael Caine, Michel Ciment, Francis Ford Coppola, Costa-Gavras, Gérard Depardieu, Amos Gitaï, Stéphane Goudet, James Gray, Isabelle Huppert, Mike Leigh, Peter Lord, Axelle Ropert, Jerry Schatzberg, Agnès Varda, etc.
A collection of films unique in the world
With over 5,000 hours of filmed material, this priceless cultural heritage focused on the city of Paris harbors treasures dating from 1895 up to the present day in a wide variety of formats and genres: feature films shot in Paris, shorts from the early years of cinema, animated films, documentaries, music videos, advertisements, stock footage, etc. All digitized and readily available at all times, these works can be consulted on individual screens, one person or several people at a time. Cinema à la carte for everyone!

MINDSCAPES IS A FILM ART EVENT THAT STRIVES TO BRING TOGETHER EMERGING AND ESTABLISHED ARTISTS FROM AROUND THE WORLD TO SHARE THEIR ART & PHILOSOPHY IN AN ART HOUSE SETTING.
VIDEO ARTISTS GINNETTA CORRELI AND CASSANDRA SECHLER CREATED MINDSCAPES IN ORDER TO BRING TOGETHER ARTISTS IN AN ONLINE COMMUNITY AND TO CREATE A NICHE FOR DARK, PERSONAL FILMS THAT ARE OFTEN IGNORED BY THE COMMERCIAL WORLD.
“I feel that these films represent a much larger critical movement that is happening under the skin of society and the mainstream art world. These films demand attention, and we hope to have audience members walking away provoked, saddened, concerned, and perhaps somewhat disturbed by what they have seen at the show.”
